"I think that having supportive science teachers has really made me who I am now." [6:25-6:30] Dr. Rooman Ahad
"I think seeing a child, seeing what prospects they may have, and giving them ideas is really, really important. Because sometimes at home they might not have that support or they don't have a scientific background at home that's supportive to the things that they want to do. So having a science teacher being supportive in that realm really, really helps." [7:03-7:20] Dr. Rooman Ahad
"A lot of times parents will say, 'The school hasn't done anything for us or they haven't done this or haven't done that.' And I'm like 'Well have you sat down and had a conference with them? Have you done x, y, or z?' And they don't realize the power that they have as a parent to speak up for their child." [14:25-14:40] Dr. Rooman Ahad
"I think when you advocate for your child as a parent...it A) shows interest in your child's education and B) lets the teacher know that you're concerned and that you're serious about helping your child as well. For sure that partnership goes a lot further." [14:40-14:50] Dr. Rooman Ahad
