"When we ask children to share an idea to the whole class. We're asking them to take an intellectual risk in front of their peers. And what does that really mean for young children?" [4:45-5:00] Michelle Salgado
"What's great about NGSS is that there's a big emphasis on modeling, so even if you can't communicate verbally, you can use your gestures and your model to point to different ideas of what you're thinking about." [11:10-11:30] Michelle Salgado
"If you're going to have a really rich, sense-making discussion where you want your kids alert, the morning is always the best -- for kindergarteners at least." [29:30-29:45] Michelle Salgado
"As teachers, we are designers of these learning environments. We're co-designers with our children. And we should use this privilege to be responsive to students." [42:45-43:00] Michelle Salgado
"Science ideas should travel." [43:10] Michelle Salgado
